Attorneys working in the municipal arena have represented a variety of governmental entities, including counties, cities, water and sewer districts, irrigation districts, and public facilities districts. Our experience includes, but is not limited to, construction and procurement emphasis representing public entities, real property condemnation representation of condemning agencies, counseling municipalities on proper procedures and practices, and litigation representation.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS:

  • Spokane Convention Center. Counsel to Spokane Public Facilities District with respect to all phases of design, professional and construction contracts, GC/CM selection, for $50 million expansion to the Spokane Convention Center using the General Contractor/Construction Manager alternative public works contracting method.
  • Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Counsel to Spokane Public Facilities District with respect to all phases of design, real property acquisition, construction, equipment procurement, claims counseling, for $40 million sports and entertainment arena.
  • Coeur d’Alene Wastewater Treatment Plant. Construction counsel to City of Coeur d’Alene with respect to City’s termination for default of a $6 million contract for an addition to its wastewater treatment plant including termination risk assessment, subsequent re-specification, competitive bidding for completion, and related litigation.
  • Spokane Waste to Energy Incinerator. Counsel to Wheelabrator Spokane with respect to successful defense in cooperation with City of Spokane of challenge to right of City and Wheelabrator to construct and operate $104 million waste incineration facility.
