Lukins & Annis, P.S. is proud to announce that Peter J. Smith will be receiving the Denise O’Donnell-Day Award from the Idaho State Bar Association for his extraordinary service in providing pro bono services. The award is named for the late Denise O’Donnell-Day who died on December 28, 1996 at the age of 39 following a valiant fight with cancer. A graduate of GeorgetownUniversity and Marquette Law School, Denise was director of the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program (IVLP). Through her work at IVLP, she worked successfully to pair disadvantaged persons needing legal services with those willing and able to provide those services on a pro bono basis. The award will be presented this fall in Coeur d’Alene.
Smith has been employed as a business attorney at the Lukins and Annis Coeur d’Alene office since 2004. He serves as President of the Idaho First District Bar Association and is currently a Commissioner of the Post Falls Urban Renewal Agency. “Peter displays the qualities that we look for in our attorneys,” noted Terry Whitten, Lukins & Annis President. “We believe that Peter has a long future with our firm and he will become an ever more prominent figure in Northern Idaho.”
