We congratulate Spokane attorney Bill Hyslop, who is being recognized with the 2006 Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) President's Award. The award is given in recognition of special accomplishment or service to the WSBA during the term of president (2005). Bill played a key role as co-chair of the WSBA Committee on Public Defense in implementing the recommendations of the WSBA Blue Ribbon Panel on Criminal Defense, which addresses concerns about the quality of indigent defense services in Washington. For this service work and for the many other achievements and contributions Bill makes to his community and profession, we applaud Bill on yet another meritorious achievement.
